The Kids Get The Party Started! Día del Niño 2017

The kids kicked off the festival season with the annual Día del Niño, (day of the child) celebration in Denver April 30th. Día del Niño is a celebration of youth and families observed worldwide and gaining much in popularity here in Denver Hundreds of attendees were able enjoy free access to indoor and outdoor art exhibitions and participate in the family-friendly festivities, including live music, dance, storytelling, arts and crafts, and fun.

Two large events featuring a variety of performers and activities were held in Denver. The Denver Art Museum complex and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science both treated children, their parents and spectators to an array of entertainment.  Several dance groups  performed  traditional dances from various parts of Mexico and Peru.

The Celtic Steps Irish dance group amazed the audience with their high stepping synchronization as did the Danza Matachina Guadalupana  with their colorful dress honoring the Virgin de Guadalupe and Aztec dances. The “Mi Tierra” exhibit currently on display at the Denver Art Museum fascinated many.
