The Denver Housing Authority (DHA) and the Denver Office of Financial Empowerment (OFE) announced today their partnership for presenting a “Home-ownership & Economic Empowerment Summit” for Denver residents. Together, DHA and the OFE bring more than 25 years of experience in helping low and moderate- income families become first-time home-buyers.
The Summit is scheduled for Saturday, June 23, 2018, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at DHA’s Mulroy Opportunity Center, located at 3550 West 13th Avenue. The free, annual event offers an array of valuable information and resources to support individuals and families with the home buying process, credit repair, budgeting, and banking, selecting a mortgage and career development.
A sample of current classes being offered includes presenters from the Colorado Housing Finance Authority leading a session on Home Buyer Down Payment Assistance Programs as well as presenters from Financial Empowerment Centers and BankOn Denver leading workshops on Banking 101 and Budgeting & Setting Goals.
Workshops will be offered throughout the day within four tracks: home-ownership, credit, financial empowerment, and career building. Participants will also be able to collect valuable information and get questions answered from resource tables representing various community organizations, banks and credit unions and mortgage companies.
“The Summit is a sensational partnership between the Denver Office of Financial Empowerment, the Denver Housing Authority and partners to help empower and give hope to families that want to achieve financial stability and build generational wealth through homeownership. Through partnership, we can achieve collective impact to assist Denver residents to turn their housing and financial goals in to reality, stated to Jay Salas, Director, Office of Economic Empowerment,
Space for The Summit is limited. Registration is required at DHA Homeownership & Economic Empowerment Summit. Lunch will be provided for all attendees along with activities for children ages 6–13.
