Award Winning Jon Romero to Perform at CHAC Primavera Art Show, Free! April 5th

As the Earth becomes alive with flowers and wildlife, let this Spring energy of renewal bring you joy and abundance. Butterflies are dancing in the sky, flowers are blooming, and rainbows reach across the sky. CHAC (Chicano Humanities and Arts Council) artists find amazing ways to capture this Spring energy. Let the Primavera (Spring) art exhibit inspire you to cultivate all that you need to live vibrantly. 

Joining this Spring fling will be Jon Romero, a multi-instrumentalist for Jon Romero y Amanecer. Jon Romero y Amanecer is one of Denver, Colorado’s premier jazz ensembles established in 1999. They have shared the stage with internationally renowned musicians such as Tito Puente, Los Hombres Calientes, Harold “Pucho” Brown, and His Latin Soul Brothers just to mention a few. They have performed at The City Park Jazz Festival, A Taste of Colorado and The Cinco de Mayo Festival numerous times! They have released two CDs on The Jonnie Sage Records Label, “Gracias Papa Santo” and “Tonantzin.” was inducted In 2023 Jon Romero was inducted into the Chicano Music Hall of Fame.

In 1997, Romero created Jonnie Sage Records. A Denver, Colorado based Independent Indigenous Record Label. In 1999 he formed Jon Romero y Amanecer, an eight piece Latin Jazz/Funk/Rock Music Ensemble. Jonnie Sage Records and Big City Sound Music Productions Promoter Dean Lopez released Jon Romero y Amanecer’s first CD Project “Gracias Papa Santo” in April 1999!

Spring is here and it is time to usher in the changing of the season! Join Jon Romer and various artists for the opening of CHAC’s (Chicano Humanities and Arts Council) Primavera art exhibit on April 5th from 5pm-9pm at CHAC @40 West (7060 W. 16th Ave. Lakewood, CO 80214).  

Along with live music by Jon Romero, The Primavera art exhibit opening will have a family paper-flower make n take workshop from 6pm-9pm, refreshments and vendors. This is a family friendly and free event open to the public.
