The Senate voted yesterday on a budget bill that includes a back-door gimmick that would expand oil and gas drilling and fracking across federal lands and oceans.
The following is a statement by the following organizations: Americas For Conservation + The Arts, AZUL, The CLEO Institute, Common Ground for Conservation, Emerald Cities Collaborative, EPCF,
“Our communities—from Florida to Colorado—do not support this blatant giveaway to polluters. These public lands and offshore waters belong to you and me. We must protect them today so that future generations may enjoy the country’s natural splendor tomorrow.
Our country’s special places support jobs and local communities and should remain accessible to all, and safe from the risks of oil and gas drilling. We will not let President Trump turn our natural heritage into an industrial wasteland for the sake of oil and gas profits.”
