Primavera Mural

Armed with paint brushes and ladders to climb, the Jaramillos are ready to recreate the “Primavera” Mural in the heart of North Denver.

Original artist Jerry Jaramillo alongside with his son Jay Jaramillo are working hard to get the funds to help bring back this historical work of art to the community which was removed in late 2014.

The Mural being recreated will be on the wall of Northsides Denver Bronco stop located on the corner of 41st & Tejon, the building across the street from where the first mural was originally painted. Angela Duran, Owner of Northsides Denver Bronco Stop said to us “‘La Primavera’ resurrected is a historical event! She stood as a cultural icon in the Northside for decades and became part of the Chicano Heritage. Duran, who donated the wall on her building also went on to say “I’m proud to support and be part of this beautiful mural and honor these talented artists.”

The Jaramillos hosted their first fundraising event at the Cherry Bean on Saturday afternoon, as locals came in to talk and support their work. Jaramillos other mural “Mother Earth” which was recently restored is also featured on the wall of the Cherry Bean as they are proud to support their local artists.

There is plenty of interest in restoring or recreating murals on business walls to bring back the urban beautification. The Jaramillos are on there way to do so with Primavera and together  we can bring back an iconic mural and historic work of art back to the Denver community.
