The Capuchin Poor Clare Sisters came to Denver on November 17, 1988 to start the Monastery of Our Light. The Sisters established the Monastery that is connected to St. Patrick’s Church located at 3325 Pecos Street, Denver, Colorado 80211. The sisters are a cloistered, contemplative order that live in a hidden life of prayer and poverty. They support themselves by making cards, jewelry, baking and sell the Clarisas Cookies.
The neighborhood community surrounding the Monastery has grown over the past five years and their hidden and silent prayer garden can be seen by the neighbors surrounding the monastery, their privacy is gone and they are not hidden anymore. The Capuchin Poor Clare Sisters invite you to be a part of their dream to build a new Monastery of our Lady of Light to be located at 1250 S. Bonnie Lane in Watkins, Colorado. The cost to build the new Monastery is approximately $1,000,000.00.
A Committee of volunteers along with the Capuchin Poor Clares is fundraising in support of the new Monastery and will be having a Reverse Raffle, Silent Auction, Dinner and Dance on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Police Protection Agency (PPA) Event Center, 2105 Decatur Street, Denver, Colorado 80211.
We are writing to you to ask for a donation in support of the upcoming event in April and to support the building of the Monastery.
Your donation could be one or more of the following:
1) Cash contribution(s)
2) Sponsorship of a table for 10 at the dinner $750.00

4) A week-end stay in a nice Hotel in Downtown Denver or the Mountains.
