Museo came to an abrupt stop and so did her job and her fashion career. But wait!  quick thinking and she was back in business making masks of every design for both adults and children.

Her masks include optional filters and nose pincher.

She has donated hundreds of masks to the Navajo Nation, children and folks who have lost their jobs.

 

She offered her sewing services to everyone from alterations to custom designed clothing and anything else someone may want. She also makes custom soaps, candle margaritas and various other artwork she creates.

Now in her third year with her sewing business with the potential of success finally on the horizon this local Chicana decided to make a career change and is now sewing full-time.  Her goal is to focus on quality and ensure customers are satisfied with their purchase in terms of comfort, quality, style.

Custom made wedding and quinceanera dresses are coming soon to her offerings.

Janel can also be found every Sunday at the West Colfax Farmers Market, just in front of the former Casa Bonita restaurant, through October 18th from 8am to 1pm. Yes, it is still happening, just wear a mask or buy one from Janel while you’re there. Masks start at just $3.  

 

For me and my Mexican  fabric she suggested reversible pillows and an embroidered Dia de los Muertos table cloth. Wow! I could not have been happier and the price was right.
